We are currently hiring
Advanced First Aid Medics (AFA)
for immediate and upcoming placements on both
drilling rig
and
seismic
exploration projects across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia for the Fall/Winter season.
As a
rig medic
, you will be stationed in an on-site medic shack and will be primarily responsible for responding immediately in the event of a rig emergency during operations. Duties include monitoring the health and safety of crew members, maintaining accurate medical and safety documentation, and being available 24/7 for emergency response while on shift. This role is ideal for medics who can work independently in a fast-paced, high-hazard industrial environment. You will receive comprehensive online and in-person training to prepare you to safely and effectively perform your duties.
As a
seismic medic,
you will be working on seismic exploration projects, which would involve custom online and in-person training on how to haul and operate a snowmobile and UTV for accessing remote patients in diverse geographical areas. You will also receive training on what seismic exploration is and the duties of a medic on such a project. If you have experience working in backcountry or remote settings, this is an excellent opportunity for you.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer first aid and medical care and immediate response during emergencies to crew members as required within your scope of practice
Conduct assessments and initiate treatment as required
Maintain daily logs, injury reports, and medical documentation
Participate in daily safety meetings and provide input on site safety practices
Assist with health and safety programs and participate in emergency response drills
Ensure medical equipment and supplies remain fully stocked and operational
Submit daily hazard assessments on projects
Handle radio checks with crews on programs that use mobile radios
Qualifications & Requirements:
Current Drug and Alcohol Clearance
Valid driver's license (Class 4 or Class 5)
Current and clean Driver's Abstract
Standard PPE: CSA-approved boots, task-specific gloves, and a cold-weather snow suit all other PPE will be supplied.*
Valid Certifications:
Current Advanced First Aid
H2S Alive
Energy Safety Canada - Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) in-house online training provided* WHMIS in-house online training provided*
