About the Role
As a Payroll Administrator at Birks Group, you'll play a key role in ensuring a seamless payroll experience for employees across Canada. You will support payroll processing, benefits administration, and employee data management with accuracy, confidentiality, and care -- helping us deliver the same level of excellence internally that we bring to our customers every day.

Key Responsibilities
Assist in processing bi-weekly payroll for Canadian employees using ADP Workforce Now (WFN).
Review and validate timecard entries for hourly employees.
Support the Payroll Manager in entering commissions, bonuses, and other incentive payments.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee payroll records.
Process documentation for new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, and other employee changes.
Assist in managing time-off policies and tracking leave balances.
Support group benefits administration, including enrollments, terminations, and monthly invoice reconciliations.
Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees across retail locations and the head office.
Prepare and distribute payroll reports and summaries as requested.
Assist with payroll audits and ensure compliance with federal and provincial payroll regulations.
Collaborate with HR and Finance teams on payroll-related matters.
Participate in special projects and contribute to process improvements as assigned by the Payroll Manager.
Perform any other related duties as required.
Knowledge and Skills
Diploma or degree in Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field (a strong asset).
2-3 years of experience in payroll processing.
Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now (WFN) or similar payroll systems.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Excellent communication skills in both English and French.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
Solid understanding of Canadian payroll legislation and employment standards.
Strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and a customer-service mindset.
*Please note that due to the nature of the responsibilities of the position, a proficient level of English is required, in particular to communicate on a regular basis with employees and managers outside of Quebec.
