Administrator Hillcrest Place



Candidates are invited to apply to the permanent full time position of Administrator within the province of Brandon Manitoba

Reporting to the Regional Director, the Administrator assumes responsibility for ensuring the provision of high quality care and services while maintaining a safe and healthy environment for Residents, visitors and team members within the Home. This is achieved by demonstrating strong leadership within Extendicare's vision of "helping people live better".

Accountabilities

  • Provides leadership to the facility, responsible to establish and achieve the goals and objectives as approved; manages the human, financial and physical resources for the various departments of the facility.
  • Selects and develops Leadership Team members; provides an opportunity for growth and development; creates an environment that will increase knowledge and skills among all team members.
  • Consults with residents, families, the community, and the long-term care sector while building and maintaining a positive and dynamic public image for the Home.
  • Participates in the budgeting process and manages the operation of the facility within budget while overseeing the accounting operations for the facility.
  • Implements facility wide best practice, risk management, quality improvement and assurance systems, ensuring that services delivered meet the standards of Extendicare, Accreditation Canada and the provincial industry standards in all areas of the operation with a focus on Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction
Qualifications and Experience
  • Post-secondary education in health care, business, social services or Long Term Care Administrator Certificate required
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in long term care in a leadership role
  • Demonstrated and proven leadership skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Understanding and experience with Manitoba health standards and Accreditation Canada;
  • Understanding of change management and organizational development;
  • Solid understanding of Quality Improvement and Assurance programs
  • Customer-focused attitude, with an emphasis on building and maintaining relationships with residents, their families, team members and the community
  • Ability to generate sound, creative solutions and new approaches to daily challenges and which maximize the short and long term goals of the facility
  • Knowledge and understanding of financial reports, budgeting, cost analysis and accounting practices
  • Ability to adapt and manage in a changing health care system
