Your Opportunity:

The Indigenous Wellness Core (IWC) works in collaboration and partnership across Alberta Health Services and with all external partners to support innovation and improvement in Indigenous Health and to work towards health equity for Indigenous peoples and communities. The Administrative Support V (ASV) will provide advanced administrative support to the Indigenous Wellness Core Management teams, as well as acting as a mentor for peers, actively promoting and facilitating a positive work environment by fostering a team attitude of acceptance and tolerance. The AS5 will provide back-up Administrative support to the IWC's senior executive leadership teams as well as Program-Wide support for the IWC as part of the Administrative Team. Working under minimal guidance and direction, the AS5 utilizes enhanced skills to perform varied and/or specialized activities. The Administrative Support V uses discretion to address escalated issues, resolve conflicts, handle confidential information and communicate in an effective and timely manner. The AS5 works in a complex environment and performs multiple tasks involving independent decision making, responding to shifting priorities, management and coordination of large work volume often within short deadlines. The incumbent must exercise judgment and independent decision making across a spectrum of activities and administrative duties, and must maintain a positive and professional image in dealing with a variety of complex issues using diplomacy, tact, cultural sensitivity and confidentiality. There is an expectation for a high level of self- direction, interpersonal and communication skills, and achievement of results. The incumbent must possess knowledge and sensitivity around the culture and health issues of Indigenous people as well as successful experience working in multi-cultural environments.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. certificate in office or business administration). Additional Required Qualifications:

A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive, diverse administrative experience in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity. Knowledge and sensitivity around the culture and health issues of Indigenous people as well as successful experience working in multi-cultural environments.. Ability to foster a climate of collaboration and cooperation amongst, and builds solid relationships with public agencies, government, boards, committees, and other stakeholders/partners. Ability to manage and prioritize work and meet deadlines. Ability to work independently. Additional administrative, computer, managerial/leadership, and financial management courses. Demonstrated knowledge of Indigenous community organizational engagement protocols and practices. Excellent interpersonal and team skills. Excellent working knowledge of MS Office software, including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint; and, excellent written and oral communication. Proficiency in SharePoint. Self-directed with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, with an ability to handle multiple tasks. Strong written and oral skills. Preferred Qualifications:

A well-developed understanding of community-based work in an Indigenous community setting. Possess a Working Knowledge of Alberta Health Services systems and processes; general office policies and procedures, including, but not limited to financial policies, electronic communication requests system (ARTS), Freedom of Information and Privacy (FOIP), human resource and expense claim systems. Proficiency with e-People, Markview, and iExpense.
