The Simulation Assistant provides operational, logistical, theatrical and administrative support for the eSIM Provincial Simulation Program. Operational support includes planning assistance, ensuring readiness for simulation sessions, simulation center preparation and turnover, operating simulation and AV equipment when needed and simulation equipment upkeep. Logistical support involves moving simulation, AV and clinical equipment around to meet site/zone/provincial needs, coordinating simulation sessions around equipment availability, equipment inventory and organizing simulation center supplies. Theatrical support may involve acting in a diversity of roles such as healthcare providers, patients or family members under the direction of the simulation session facilitator. The Simulation Assistant will also coordinate and coach other simulation confederates (actors) who support individual simulation sessions. Administrative support may include booking meetings, taking minutes, timekeeping, managing simulation bookings, and other general administrative tasks. A successful candidate will have strong computer skills, be self-directed, highly organized, motivated to learn, and willing to adapt based on the needs of the program. This position is based out of the Edmonton General Hospital but requires travel throughout the Edmonton Zone and provincially as needed.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. course(s) in business administration, medical office assistant), or other related fields. Additional Required Qualifications:

Strong computer skills and comfortable with technology. Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Visio, Word, Outlook). Exceptional communication, collaboration and customer service skills. Organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks , adapt and make sound decisions. Troubleshooting and problem solving skills. Leadership skills (coordination, coaching, inspire others, building rapport). Must be willing to travel throughout the Edmonton Zone and province as needed. Driver's license required (Class 5 non-GDL). Must be physically able to lift and move simulators and associated equipment (> 50Lbs). Preferred Qualifications:

Post-secondary education in a health sciences or related discipline preferred. Experience in theatre arts. Experience working with multi-media/audio-visual technology. Experience working in healthcare. Experience working within a clinical simulation environment. Experience ordering, receiving, stocking, organizing and maintaining supply inventories an asset.
