Your Opportunity:
The Scheduler uses the Workforce Management (WFM) staff scheduling application proficiently and works within established staff scheduling processes to complete complex and often urgent staff scheduling tasks within short timelines in a busy, high pressure environment. Attention to detail will be crucial as you ensure that employees are scheduled appropriately, and employee pay data is captured in accordance with AHS policies, procedures, and collective agreement provisions. Leveraging accomplished, technical and interpersonal communication skills, you will enjoy providing outstanding customer service to valued clients in a fast paced environment while adapting to frequent interruptions and shifting priorities. As the successful Scheduler, your key responsibilities will include filling pre-booked and immediate shifts that result from staff vacation, leave of absence, illness and education leave; anticipating staffing needs and informing managers of shifts that require further attention; entering data for payroll; providing scheduling reports; detailing records and compiling/providing statistical information. Understanding these responsibilities, the ideal candidate will focus on developing trusted relationships, effective interdisciplinary communication with clients and prioritizing with a patient focused mindset. Schedulers will be assigned to support Correctional Health Services. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. Required Qualifications:

Some post-secondary education.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams). Expert knowledge of Environment for Scheduling Personnel (ESP) and Workforce Management systems (WFM). Demonstrated experience with electronic scheduling in a unionized healthcare environment. Familiarity with payroll processes and resolving timekeeping discrepancies. Strong understanding of collective agreements and scheduling policies. Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multi environment. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with focus on professionalism and discretion. Anticipating staffing needs and informing managers of shifts that require further attention; entering data for payroll; providing scheduling reports; detailing records and compiling/providing statistical information. Understanding these responsibilities, the ideal candidate will focus on developing trusted relationships, effective interdisciplinary communication with clients and prioritizing with a patient focused mindset.
