Your Opportunity:
The successful candidate will be part of the Family Medicine Clinic at the Kaye Edmonton Clinic. The Medical Office Assistant (MOA) is typically the first point of clinical contact for patient. The MOA is responsible for providing support to the patient in the clinical environment as well as helping to navigate nursing and community resources. This position will support the family medicine clinic with booking management. Working with assigned physicians, the MOA will manage assigned panel of patients and will assist other MOAs as needed. The role includes greeting and rooming patients, setting up for minor procedures, acting as a chaperone during sensitive exams, room cleaning and documenting in the electronic medical record (Connect Care). In addition, clerical duties such as faxing, scanning and mailing are regular part of this role. The MOA manages a high volume of telephone calls for assigned physicians and collaborates with physician and nursing as required. The MOA must have the ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy clinic setting. The MOA must be organized and self-motivated, and have the ability to problem solve. The MOA must possess strong communication skills and enjoy being part of a dynamic team. The Successful candidate many be required to cross coverage in other areas of the portfolio including but not limited to Seniors Clinic and Neurosciences.
