As a member of the Payroll Operations Team, the Pay Specialist is responsible for providing payroll duties and support in a fast paced, challenging environment. This position manages Payroll-related escalations from the HR Support center and performs several Payroll processing activities that are important to successful pay processing for AHS 140,000+ employee base. They will also provide on-going training and mentoring to clerical and administrative Team members. The successful incumbent is required to maintain knowledge of current legislation and its impact on Payroll, be a critical/analytical thinker with a focus on Customer Service, and a desire to learn and advance in Payroll operations. Duties Include: Process employee time corrections and bank payouts. Create single or off cycle payments. Create Records of Employment and investigate Service Canada requests. Process Employee status or union changes. Identify over / under payments to employees. Communicate with employees and timekeepers. Process Bank adjustments for new & terminated employees. Verify Retro pay Calculations. Setup or adjust Garnishment deductions. Analyze Time and Labour data. Monitor Time and Labour Exceptions. Run Time Administration when required. Review Rejected Time reports. Investigate and Resolve Tickets in Service Now. Run Queries for pay validations and checks. Other pay related tasks as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications: Previous PeopleSoft experience preferred. Previous experience in a unionized environment preferred.
