Your Opportunity:This is a unique opportunity within the Academic Medicine Health Services Program (AMHSP) which is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, administration and evaluation of various AMHSP programs and initiatives for Alberta Health Services (AHS). AMHSP offer alternatives to the traditional fee for service physician compensation model and support physicians in taking an innovative approach to the delivery of health care. The Admin Assistant IV position provides specialized support to the Departments of Surgery, Anesthesia, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Clinical Neurosciences and Psychiatry in Calgary. This position is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the respective AMHSP program and project activities for the various departments in the AMHSP program. It requires strong administrative secretarial skills to function in the two organizations (AHS and the University of Calgary). The incumbent must be familiar with the policies, business practices, corporate applications and support infrastructure of two organizations and the complexity of managing the physician\'s activities between the two to be effective.Description:As an Administrative Support IV, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Required Qualifications:Some post-secondary education. Additional Required Qualifications:The incumbent works with minimal direction and indirect supervision to complete work assignments where considerable judgment, tact, creativity and initiative are required in resolving issues and professionalism is paramount in representing the Department to internal and external stakeholders. The incumbent works within a team environment, understanding the purpose, goals of the team and can bring forward ideas to assist the team. Using their experience and skill, the incumbent is expected to work independently exercising decision-making where the impact of error could be high. The variability of the medical staff members\' careers and their respective activities demands broad and flexible capabilities in each secretarial position. Must be able to work under pressure to manage competing and changing priorities and to meet deadlines with multiple interruptions. Preferred Qualifications:University Degree is strongly preferred. Advanced computer experience required, especially in MS Office. A minimum of five years senior level secretarial experience. Experience in a large healthcare organization or academic health centre is preferred. A proactive, seasoned, organized and efficient individual who can work independently.
