Under the direction of the Health Information Management, Registration, Switchboard and Patient Information Supervisor the Administrative Support III is responsible for positive patient identification and registration services for the Emergency Department (staffed 24/7), and Patient Registration (staffed 0600-23:00) areas in the RDRH. The position is also responsible for completing registration for Inpatient admissions, Ambulatory care, Outpatient, Diagnostic Imaging and pre-Registration activities in Connect Care. Position also includes a variety of other tasks such as taking payments for uninsured services and supplies. Incumbent needs to be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, enjoy working as part of a team and have excellent customer service skills. The successful applicant is required to have availability to work all of the shifts in this department.Description:As an Administrative Support III, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Required Qualifications:Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Additional Required Qualifications:Medical office assistant or unit clerk program is required, although other relevant post-secondary education may be considered. Medical terminology certificate (test will be administered). Keyboarding of 40 wpm (corrected for errors) test will be administered. Must have a proven record of maintaining privacy with sensitive information and situations. Possess and demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication skills, ability to interact in a positive and respectful manner. Ability to work effectively in a team environment, prioritize and organize work in fast-paced surroundings.
