TD Asset Management (TDAM), a member of TD Bank Financial Group, is a leading North American investment manager offering progressive investment solutions to both institutional and individual investors. For over two decades, the organization has established competitive market positions in active, quantitative, and passive portfolio management. As of December 31, 2022, TDAM and its affiliates manage over $408billion in assets on behalf of pension, insurance, endowment/foundation, and corporate clients, as well as high-net worth clients and retail mutual funds.
We are currently recruiting for an Administrative Officer to join the Portfolio and Fund Management ("PFM") Team within Alternative Investments at TD Asset Management ("TDAM"). This is an opportunity to build a career within an Alternatives business with over $30 billion in assets under management ("AUM") and a growing private infrastructure fund with over $2 billion in AUM. The person will be primarily responsible for supporting the corporate and legal administrative work for the Canadian Real estate strategy. The role will require close collaboration with external law firms, asset managers and across teams that include the Investment and Finance teams, Operations, and the Corporate legal team, among others to support ongoing deliverables as well as governance matters.
Coordinating with external law firms and asset managers regarding corporate maintenance matters.
Coordinating the execution of various corporate maintenance documents and occasionally assisting with the execution of various commercial real estate transaction documents including acquisitions, dispositions, financing and joint venture structures.
Dealing with and responding to 3rd party and internal stakeholder inquiries and conducting follow up as required.
Maintaining and organizing files with a robust follow up system.
Preparing cheque requisitions and expense reports. [NOTE: Is this something new to the role?]
Demonstrating a team attitude with an accountability and confidentiality to both internal and external stakeholders to achieve goals of the Firm.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Legal Assistant diploma or college certificate in office administration or Information & Communications Technologies or equivalent; potentially also an Undergraduate degree and/or higher (preferred)
1-3 years of relevant experience;
Varied real estate experience handling complex commercial real estate transactions with a minimum of supervision in a fast paced, high volume environment
Strong time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills and ability to work under pressure to meet important deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication as well as excellent organizational and analytical skills;
In-depth knowledge of business and legal terminology.
Ability to follow-up on files and delays with minimal supervision.
Experience with Adobe and Microsoft Word, Excel and Visio would be beneficial.
