Position Summary

The Administrative Coordinator acts as a facilitator and key resource for the Department of Anesthesia and Pain Management (DAPM) on clinical anesthesia scheduling and administrative matters across UHN and Women\xe2\x80\x99s College Hospital.

Duties

  • Coordinating departmental clinical and administrative activities
  • Providing administrative support for the deputy site head and anesthesia program leads
  • Providing support with financial activities
  • Ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the office
  • Working on special projects, as assigned and/or requested
  • Performing cross-functional and/or other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned or requested
Qualifications
  • A minimum, completion of in health care administration or recognized equivalent
  • Business, organization or management training at the college or university level, preferred
  • Completion of a medical terminology course
  • At minimum, practical and related experience and/or on-the-job training
  • Demonstrated competence in MS Windows and MS Office
  • Previous on-the-job computer/word-processing, database and spreadsheet software experience; experience in a Microsoft Office environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to produce high quality and accurate work in accordance with Hospital standards
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to use good judgment in assessing difficult situations
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player
  • Ability to perform duties in a self-directed manner
  • Experience working in a health care environment, an asset
  • Experience working in a teaching hospital environment, an asset
  • Very good command of medical terminology, an asset
