The Nipissing Wellness Ontario Health Team (NW OHT) has formed in response to the
Ministry of Health's ongoing restructuring of our provincial healthcare system. To date we are a collaborative group of 30+ partners and affiliates who are working together with patients, families, and caregivers, to enhance healthcare across the Nipissing region. We are looking to hire a team oriented, motivated individual with a working knowledge of our healthcare system to be our Administrative Coordinator. The successful candidate will work alongside the NW OHT Executive Director and support the operational activities of the OHT.
Responsibilities:
Support working groups, networks, and collaboration council by creating agendas, and minutes
Monitoring and tracking action items from meetings
Engaging with, and supporting our patient, family and caregiver council (PFCC)
Provide staff with support for project work as required
Set up meetings, organize materials and support meeting flow
Respond to general questions about OHT and connect individuals to team members as needed
Support sharing of information across members
Embed in all NWOHT work the shared vision, values and guiding principles including principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Organize and oversee logistics for events
Work in close collaboration with NW OHT Executive
Other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Education:
Post-secondary diploma or undergraduate degree with experience in health and or social sciences
Bilingualism is a significant asset
Experience:
A minimum of 3-5 years working in healthcare in an administrative / support role

Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills (in both official languages) including the ability to demonstrate tact and diplomacy with diverse groups of stakeholders, including patients, front-line healthcare providers, community agencies, and healthcare administrators.

Ability to write and edit clear, and grammatically correct content
Ability to multitask and set priorities, managing time effectively.
Possesses a high level of accountability and proven capability to identify opportunities, take initiative, and think through future implications.
Experience maintaining an events calendar and preparing meeting materials in a timely fashion
Ability to manage demands independently in a fast-paced environment.
Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office - PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Adobe products).
Previous, relevant experience in healthcare context.

Physical Environment & Working Conditions:
This position is mostly of a sedentary nature and requires long periods working on computer. There are periods of stress when having to meet tight deadlines. The work environment is currently virtual (subject to change). For virtual work we require that individuals have a private, dedicated workspace, free from distraction with a suitable internet connection to facilitate virtual meetings.
