Job Description


Summary: The Administrative Assistant and Social Media Coordinator will be responsible for managing Cerebral Palsy Kids & Families\xe2\x80\x99 social media presence, creating and publishing content, and engaging with the online audience. They will also provide administrative and logistical support to the agency in coordinating member events, fundraising, volunteer organization, and general reception. All duties will be carried out in a manner consistent with the Mission Statement, policies and procedures, bylaws, and directions of the President and Board of Directors of the Calgary Cerebral Palsy Association and the Executive Director.   • Ensure confidentiality of all family and personal information
Key Accountabilities:
  • Communicate weekly with the Executive Director respecting the activities of Cerebral Palsy Kids & Families through weekly work plans
  • Manage the Walk & Roll Alberta social media accounts, create and publish content, and engage with the online audience
  • Administrative duties for Walk & Roll Alberta including participant tracking, physical activity logs, theme days, communication and marketing materials, and assisting with video and voiceovers
  • Develop and execute social media strategies to promote our organization\'s brand and increase engagement
  • Manage and maintain social media accounts (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn) to ensure consistent messaging and branding
  • Create and publish engaging content (e.g. posts, images, videos) on a regular basis
  • Monitor social media trends and provide insights and recommendations for improving social media presence
  • Engage with our audience online by responding to comments, messages, and reviews in a timely and professional manner
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g. marketing, communications) to align social media efforts with overall organizational goals
  • Track and report on social media metrics (e.g. followers, engagement, conversions) and use data to inform future strategies and content
  • Stay up to date on social media best practices and emerging trends to continuously improve our social media presence
  • Manage and organize files and documents, both physical and digital
  • Perform general administrative support
Qualifications and Core Competencies:
  • Passion for supporting kids and families living with a physical disability
  • Experience with social media platforms and associated tools
  • Ability to take initiative and ownership of assigned projects and carry projects to completion with minimum supervision
  • Ability to work as part of a team, excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work respectfully with a diverse community including donors, volunteers, vendors, and members
  • Demonstrate professionalism, judgement, and discretion in dealing with members with confidential or sensitive matters
  • Data-entry/database management expertise
  • Excellent attention to detail, proven track record for accuracy and ability to multi-task, extremely well organized
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, fluency in English, intermediate to advanced skill with Microsoft Office suite or programs \xe2\x80\x93 especially Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
**This position may be funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Program. Successful candidates must meet the requirements for this program, which can be found here: https://www.canada.ca/en/employment-social-development/services/funding/canada-summer-jobs/screening-eligibility.html#h2.03 Working conditions and hours worked: The position will require 37.5 hours of services per week for a duration of 8 weeks. Services shall typically take place during normal working hours. Flexibility will be necessary to accommodate events and circumstances where services are required outside of normal working hours as dictated by the needs of the organization and the families it supports. A typical work week is 5 days per week of 7.5 hours per day from 8:30AM \xe2\x80\x93 4:00PM. Regular workdays may be interchanged with another day of the week as required.
