Knappett Industries is happy to offer an opportunity for a Receptionist / Administrative Assistant in our Nanaimo office. We are seeking positive, experienced and energetic people to join our diverse and dynamic team. Knappett Industries (2006) Ltd. is a privately owned construction company with operations bases in Nanaimo, Courtenay, Port Alberni and Fort St. John, BC. Since commencing operations in 1988, Knappett has grown to be a leading provider of civil construction services for major infrastructure, residential subdivision development, underground utility installation & replacement, road building, land clearing projects in British Columbia. Over the past 30 years Knappett Industries Ltd. has maintained a strong and accelerating growth rate, with operations currently serving Western Canada.

Responsibilities:

Reception:

  • Receiving and directing calls, messages and emails as required; Greeting Clients
  • Schedule meetings and corporate events
  • Coordination of company promotional events and advertising
  • Procurement and management of office supplies and on-going office needs
  • Communication with stores and suppliers for item pricing and procurement
  • Work together with project management and financial management staff to address and assist with ongoing needs of active projects
  • Preparation of project specific reports and plans
  • Develop and utilize company specific spreadsheets and documents
  • Compose letters and memorandum from written or verbal direction
  • Clerical support including printing, copying, scanning, fax, binding, filing, etc.
  • Planning and booking travel and accommodations for company staff.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalency
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Office Suite
  • Strong Written and Oral Communication Skills
  • Excellent Time Management Skills and Ability to Prioritize Work
  • Strong Multi-tasking and Organizational Skills
  • Diligent Attention to Detail and Accuracy
  • Valid Driver\'s License

This position is compensated at an hourly rate. Employees are eligible for enrollment in our company benefits package following successful completion of a three month probationary period. Compensation will be determined by the successful applicant\'s level of training and experience. Submissions will be reviewed and only short listed applicants will be contacted for interviews.
