DUTIES

Reporting to the Director of Programming and Operations, Indigenous Initiative & Reconciliation (IIR), the Administrative Assistant provides


clerical and administrative duties for the Indigenous Initiatives & Reconciliation (IIR) division. The Administrative Assistant will assist with


organizing and scheduling meetings, preparation and distribution of a wide range of reports, correspondence and meeting minutes, travel


arrangements and recruitment activities. The incumbent will also provide support for other divisions and departments within UCN and external


agencies including other post-secondary institutions and Indigenous organizations to ensure the effective implementation and processing of


the division's policies and regulations.





REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

o Office Assistant Certificate; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered


Experience coordinating and scheduling travel arrangements Experience with scheduling meetings and minute-taking Proficiency in MS Office 365 and office technologies (managing an electronic calendar, databases, Excel, Word and PowerPoint) Ability to multitask and meet deadlines Ability to take initiative Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced work environment Ability to manage sensitive information and maintain confidentiality Effective and culturally relevant communication skills and interpersonal skills Effective critical thinking and problem-solving skills Commitment to life-long learning
