Position Overview
The Administrative and Communications Coordinator plays a vital role in the Saint John Arts Centre team, serving as a key connector between our organization, artists, program participants, and the broader community. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, this position empowers our leadership and supports our mission through skilled administration, creative communications, and dedicated community engagement.

Key Responsibilities
Community Engagement & Reception
Serve as the welcoming face of the Arts Centre, greeting visitors and responding to inquiries in person, by phone, and via email
Build positive relationships with artists, instructors, participants, and community members
Support visitors in discovering programs and opportunities that align with their artistic interests
Creative Communications
Develop engaging social media content that showcases exhibitions, workshops, events, and the vibrant artistic community we serve
Create compelling monthly e-newsletters that highlight upcoming programs and inspire community participation
Assist with exhibition materials including price lists, labels, and communication with artists
Administrative Support
Provide essential administrative support to the Executive Director, enabling them to focus on strategic initiatives and partnerships
Maintain organizational systems including Google calendar, studio bookings, and workshop registrations
Process payments through Square and manage product selections
Organize and report statistics for CADAC and other reporting requirements
Program & Event Support
Contribute to the success of exhibitions, the annual fundraiser, and other events that showcase our community's artistic talents
Assist with coordinating facility rentals that bring diverse cultural activities to our space
Support workshop administration to ensure positive experiences for instructors and participants
Digital Presence
Maintain the Arts Centre website with current information about exhibitions, workshops, and events
Help develop and implement strategies to enhance our digital presence and community outreach
Required Qualifications & Attributes

Excellent interpersonal skills and a welcoming approach to diverse community members
Strong organizational abilities with attention to detail and follow-through
Self-motivated problem-solver who thrives in a collaborative environment
Proficiency with digital tools including social media platforms, Canva or equivalent design software, email, word processing, and spreadsheets
Strong writing and proofreading skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality and timeliness
Flexibility and enthusiasm for contributing to various aspects of arts center operations

Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of and/or experience in arts environments, though we welcome applications from individuals with transferable skills and a demonstrated interest in our mission.
This is a full-time position based at the Saint John Arts Centre.
