Hourly Rate: AE-RA-Tuteur / TA-RA-Tutor : $31.89 ou/or $50.25 (2024-2025)
The academic year starts on September 1 and ends on August 31.
Undergraduate students will be paid at the lower rate; while graduate students will be paid at the higher rate.
These rates do not included vacation pay nor statutory pay.
These rates will be applied until a new collective agreement is ratified. Retro will be paid after the ratification.

La revue Histoire sociale / Social History est a la recherche d'une adjointe ou d'un adjoint a la redaction pour assister avec des taches administratives reliees a la publication d'une revue savante. La candidate ou le candidat travaillera sous la direction de la directrice generale et sera responsable pour la gestion du processus de publication des etudes critiques et comptes rendus de la revue. Les taches incluront principalement, mais ne seront pas limitees a :

  • Gerer le compte de messagerie-courriel ;
  • Communiquer avec les auteurs, les responsables des comptes rendus et les maisons d'editions ;
  • Commander des ouvrages recents aupres des maisons d'edition ;
  • Enregistrer les livres recus dans une base de donnees et mettre a jour les dossiers courants ;
  • Maintenir un index a jour des etudes critiques et comptes rendus ;
  • Poster les ouvrages a faire recenser aux auteurs ;
  • Suivre les directives des responsables des comptes rendus afin de preparer les recensions pour publication ;
  • Effectuer les revisions d'epreuves des comptes rendus ;
  • Finaliser et envoyer les ententes relatives aux droits d'auteurs ;
  • Organiser l'envoi des exemplaires de la revue ;
  • Classer et archiver des documents administratifs generales ;
  • Creer et maintenir une archive digitale ;
  • Contribuer a la mise a jour et a l'amelioration continue du site web.
A la demande de la directrice, il ou elle entreprendra d'autres taches administratives, dans la limite des heures prevues au contrat.
La preference sera accordee aux candidats bilingues enregistres dans le programme d'etude superieure en histoire.

Histoire sociale / Social History is looking for an Editorial Assistant to help with administrative tasks related to the publication of an academic journal. The candidate will answer to the Executive Director and will be responsible for the management of the publishing process of the Review Essays and Book Reviews. Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Managing emails;
  • Communicating with authors, Book Review Editors, and publishers;
  • Ordering recent books for review;
  • Recording books received in a spreadsheet and maintaining the appropriate files;
  • Maintaining an index of books received and keeping it updated;
  • Shipping books for review to authors;
  • Following the directives as provided by the Book Review Editors in order to prepare the Book Reviews for publication;
  • Revising page proofs of the Book Reviews before publication;
  • Finalising and sending Copyright agreements to authors;
  • Assisting with the shipment of the journal;
  • Filing and archiving general administrative documents;
  • Creating and maintaining a digital archive;
  • Updating the journal's website.
As requested by the Executive Director, the Assistant may be asked to undertake other administrative tasks within the hours allocated by the contract.
Preference will be given to bilingual candidates who are registered in a Graduate program in the History department.
