Adhd & Executive Function Coach

Remote, CA, Canada

Job Description

ADHD & Executive Function Coach (Remote)

About the Role

Are you passionate about helping students with ADHD and executive dysfunction develop the skills they need to thrive academically and personally? Evoke Learning is seeking a dedicated ADHD and executive function (EF) coach with cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)training to join our team. This is a remote, part-time, independent contractor position with flexible scheduling and competitive compensation.

As an ADHD coach at Evoke Learning, you will work one-on-one with high school and postsecondary students to improve their time management, organization, emotional regulation, and motivation. This role uniquely integrates CBT principles with executive function coaching to empower students to overcome barriers and achieve their goals.

About Evoke Learning

Evoke is a learning and wellness centre that supports students striving to achieve their full academic potential and enhance their social-emotional well-being. Our tutors, academic strategists, and coaches are dedicated to creating a student-centred support model using holistic approaches informed by current cognitive science. We understand that everyone's learning journey is unique, and we consider the student to be the expert in their own life. The Evoke network is a community that puts students first.

Evoke's Philosophy

At Evoke, we embrace neurodiversity--the view that brain differences are normal--and that variations in brain structure make us human. We specialize in working with students who have learning disabilities, ADHD, ASD, giftedness and the comorbidities that often accompany them. We understand that the ways in which students respond to the challenges their exceptionalities create may look like active choice, but that people don't choose to struggle. No one gets up in the morning and decides, "Today, I'm not going to do well!" No one chooses to fail.

We don't believe in laziness; we believe there are barriers to learning and situations that hold people back, and that it is our job to understand their needs, determine those barriers, and help students address them. Our clients come to us to facilitate change and our goal is to help them move forward. We do this by providing them with the resources, tools, strategies, accommodations, and external scaffolding they need to become independent learners. We believe in the science of learning, and that it takes time and requires effort and practice. Evoke believes in implementing individualized intervention and support to students.

At Evoke, we deeply understand that many of our students arrive with diminished motivation, skepticism, frustration, and defensiveness. They have often faced barriers in and out of the classroom, resulting in a lack of success and appropriate interventions tailored to their needs. This has frequently led to heightened anxiety and negatively affected their self-esteem.

At Evoke, we replace judgement with curiosity, empathy, and understanding. Our mission is to provide a nurturing and supportive environment where every student can overcome these challenges, rediscover their potential, and achieve lasting success.
