Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager or designate, the Addiction Counsellor III position is responsible in providing the provision of specialized treatment and prevention/education services addressing alcohol, other drug and gambling concerns for youth and adults. Specific duties include: Counseling: Work with clients and significant collateral's to provide information, facilitate successful resolution of crises, and promote appropriate interventions. Provide ongoing individual and family counseling to promote personal development and recovery. Plan, conduct and evaluate assigned counseling groups as part of treatment. Assessment/Referral: Conduct client screening and assessments using established AHS protocols. Develop treatment plans in collaboration with clients to address identified problems and goals. Make referrals to other programs and services where appropriate. Linking and liaising with other professionals and Health care providers for services or access to services.
Description:
As an Addiction Counsellor III, you will provide quality, client focused, recovery based and culturally appropriate assessment, treatment, case management, crisis intervention, education and referral services for clients and their families; as well as community stabilization services. You will develop and implement treatment plans and provide a range of interventions which offer least intrusive and most appropriate services to clients and their families. You will also monitor and evaluate client progress and achievement of recovery goals and adapt treatment as needed. As an Addiction Counsellor III, you will depend on your excellent relationship building skills with clients, families, government staff and colleagues.
