Lander Treatment Centre in Claresholm, AB is an Alberta Health Services 48-bed short-term intensive, residential addiction treatment facility supporting adults who are experiencing problems as a result of their alcohol use, other drug use, or gambling. We are looking to recruit a skilled, enthusiastic, team-focused Addiction Counsellor. Do you have a strong foundation of professional ethics and boundaries, and wish to work in a structured clinical setting that allows you to utilize a wide range of skills and modalities? Do you have a solid foundation of knowledge and skills around addictions, mental health, trauma informed care, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and client centered care? The Lander Treatment Centre provides these opportunities. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full spectrum of case management duties with clients in a short-term, intensive treatment setting. Primary duties include assessment, treatment planning, individual counselling, group therapy, workshop facilitation, participation in experiential activities, and referrals to community agencies and allied professionals for ongoing recovery support. This person will maintain accurate and timely documentation in client files and will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. This person will demonstrate strong engagement skills, a commitment to ongoing professional development, and a strong theoretical and clinical foundation to guide their counselling practice. Note that community and client's home services do not apply to this position.
Description:
As an Addiction Counsellor III, you will provide quality, client focused, recovery based and culturally appropriate assessment, treatment, case management, crisis intervention, education and referral services for clients and their families; as well as community stabilization services. You will develop and implement treatment plans and provide a range of interventions which offer least intrusive and most appropriate services to clients and their families. You will also monitor and evaluate client progress and achievement of recovery goals and adapt treatment as needed. As an Addiction Counsellor III, you will depend on your excellent relationship building skills with clients, families, government staff and colleagues.
