Accountabilities:
Patient screening, intake/observation, assessment, crisis intervention, treatment planning, counseling, discharge planning, consultation and education
Preparation of meals
Attending monthly staff meetings
Other facility-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Three years experience in the addiction field
A two year community college diploma in health or social services with an addiction concentration, and/or complemented by other recognized academic credentials in addiction studies
A combination of academic credentials and relevant experience will be considered
Demonstrated screening and assessment skills regarding appropriateness of non-medical withdrawal services
Demonstrated knowledge and experience of the effects of withdrawal from alcohol and other substances
Current CPR/First Aid certification
Current non-violent crisis intervention training
Core knowledge and skills for withdrawal management training is an asset
Knowledge of the substance abuse treatment system in Ontario
Knowledge of gambling treatment is an asset
Knowledge of second language(s) and ethno-cultural diversity issues preferred
Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work with other agencies and/or organizations
Demonstrated verbal, written and computer skills
Must demonstrate Osler's Values of Respect, Excellence, Service, Compassion, Innovation and Collaboration
Excellent attendance and punctuality
May be required to travel between and work at all Osler sites
Basic computer skills
Additional Information
DURATION: Approximately twelve (12) months or until the previous incumbent returns.
Hours: Currently days/evenings/nights including weekends and statutory holidays (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)
Salary:
Minimum: $32.48 per hour
Maximum: $38.21 per hour
