Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the NZ Director (Systems Transformation Quality, Safety and Performance), this position will have equal distribution in terms of functioning as a site-based Patient Safety Consultant (0.5 FTE) and as a primary site liaison to support the implementation of the Acute Care Bundle Improvement (ACBI) provincial initiative (0.5 FTE). The position works with a high degree of independence and in concert with both the Director, Patient Safety North to plan and implement patient safety programs and processes and the Provincial ACBI program team to facilitate and support ACBI at GPRH to support optimization of Connect Care to enhance ACBI success. The position develops and manages these initiatives and/or programs and provides ongoing client support between individuals, departments, sites, and programs. The position will provide leadership to develop a strategy for the coordination and delivery of educational tools/resources and leads the implementation of assigned projects and programs. The position provides advice and direction to clients within its specialty function and scope. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

The position will interpret client needs, assess requirements, and identify solutions to nonstandard issues and requests. The position works to ensure Alberta Health Services values, goals and principles are implemented and integrated in the delivery of services to client groups. Partner with site improvement teams, administration, and physicians to facilitate and project manage improvement the Acute Care Bundle Improvement (ACBI) initiative as guided by being a local ACBI Provincial Site Support Team Site Lead. Communicates shared learnings across all ACBI sites and partners. This incumbent will be expected to identify and coordinate provincial resources and link to content experts such as Connect Care teams, data support and analytics, and change management supports as necessary. The position will also support: The Quality Assurance Committee structure to address requests for Quality Assurance reviews and other Section 9 protected activities. Provide consultation with clinical operations to assist in determining whether a quality assurance review is required, or the identification of an alternate need. Lead or provide advice to the quality assurance review teams that are conducting reviews as requested by operational leadership. Interacting with the reporting system regularly to identify and report on trends and hazards at a system level. Partner with site improvement teams, administration and facilitation and project manage improvement of the Acute Care bundle Improvement (ACBI) initiative as guided by being a local ACBI provincial site support team site lead.
