Your Opportunity:

In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

Description:

The Acute Care Bundle Implementation Lead/Patient Safety Consultant for the GPRH will consult with clinical operations to determine whether a system review is required, or the identification of an alternate need. This position will facilitate system review teams as requested by operational leadership, in addition will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of the Acute Care Bundle. Interacting with the reporting learning system regularly to identify and report on trends and hazards at a system level. Provide reports to the executive on event reporting trending. Interacts with leadership when serious events are reported to support the initial notification process. Reviewing of Information in reporting system to support issue identification and analysis. Assist in determining when formal safety communications (alerts, advisories) are required. Assists in the process of developing and disseminating these communications. Act as an advisory capacity to leadership on patient safety policies, procedures, and guidelines for the management of serious adverse events. Reviews safety incidents to identify trends and works with departments to change practice based on findings, this position has impact on harm prevention and risk mitigation. As a local advocate and mentor for patient safety, the lead is in a position to influence overall system awareness of \'systems thinking\', safety risks, hazards and best practices and therefore improve system performance, surveillance and vigilance across the spectrum of care.

Required Qualifications:

A minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in a clinical area (nursing or allied health discipline) or related area plus appropriate license or other recognized designation is preferred. A minimum of 5 of years\' progressive experience in a health related or business administration discipline preferred, in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity is preferred (healthcare experience an asset). Must be living in Grande Prairie area or willing to relocate to area. Additional Required Qualifications:

Experience in coordinating research projects or teams, complex data analysis and/or interpretation, evaluation methodologies, and developing formal reports. Experience in conducting safety reviews, developing recommendations and tracking implementation of recommendations. Strong understanding of health care systems, quality improvement and performance measurement methodology. Understanding of quality assurance processes and procedures. Preferred Qualifications:

Significant understanding of Section 9 of the Alberta Evidence Act. Project management training an asset.
