About the Location
The hospital is a Level 1 Community Hospital in Grand Forks, southern B.C. The hospital offers services including surgical, inpatient and emergency.

Grand Forks, population 4,112, is a city in the West Kootenay region of British Columbia. Temperature range for Spring to Fall is 32 to 42 C with little rainfall.

FREE ACCOMMODATION is WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE (13 Min walk/3 min drive)

*Blended rate of $75 per hour is total of typical gross wages (not including working short premium), plus meal per diem, performance bonus, contract bonus and extended health benefits.

About the Role
An RN is required for 12-hour Nights in Grand Forks hospital in the 12 bed Emergency Room

Reporting to the Unit Manager Emergency/ Ambulatory Care, the staff nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care and nursing practice activities of patients presenting in the Emergency Department. May be required to float to other areas per directive of Charge. The position is per the job description as defined by the Hospital.

You will remain our employee, but be part of the team and also abide by our Code of Conduct at which are our agency expectations for professional nursing practice.

Preferred 6-month commitment.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Nights - 19:00 to 07:00. The rotation is usually 4x4.

Qualifications
What you bring:

· Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCMN) as a practicing RN registrant.
· Strongly preferred: A.C.L.S., CPR, Neonatal Resuscitation, IV therapy, basic Cardiac Monitoring.
· One (1) year’ full-time recent emergency room experience or ICU experience.

Skills and Abilities:
· Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
· Ability to deal with others effectively.
· Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position/
· Ability to teach.
· Ability to initiate and work independently.
· Ability to apply critical problem solving.
· Ability to react/respond under pressure.
· Demonstrated knowledge of special procedures and techniques such as I.V. infusions of medications.
