Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and engaging Activity Worker to enhance the quality of life for residents in a long-term care facilities. The ideal candidate will plan and facilitate a variety of recreational and social activities tailored to seniors and individuals with disabilities, including those with Alzheimer's and dementia. This role requires excellent communication skills, creativity, and a genuine desire to support aging populations through meaningful engagement and social interaction.

Duties

Develop and implement diverse activity programs that promote socialization, cognitive stimulation, and physical activity for residents. Coordinate and lead recreational therapy sessions, memory care activities, and special events aligned with residents' interests and abilities. Manage activity schedules to ensure a balanced and engaging calendar of events. Provide emotional support and counseling related to aging issues, fostering a positive environment. Collaborate with caregiving staff to identify individual needs and adapt activities accordingly. Maintain accurate records of resident participation and progress in activities.

Requirements

Experience in assisted living, nursing home settings, or long-term care environments preferred. Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, senior care, and working with people with disabilities is highly desirable. Background in recreational therapy, or related fields is advantageous. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members. Compassionate attitude with enthusiasm, patience and adaptability to meet diverse resident needs.
