Our team is currently hiring a:

Temporary Full-Time Recreation Leisure Aide (Activity Aide)

What will you do.

Must be self directed and creative. Must be able to interact positively with residents and coworkers Carries out planned programs creatively and imaginatively, maintaining the optimum interest of the resident Have a genuine interest and ability to work with residents who have physical, behavioural, memory and/or communicative challenges Must be able to work one to one with residents and coordinate small and larger group programs Assists residents while promoting independence in Activities of Daily Living (ADL) through the implementation of restorative care programs as outlined in the residents plan of care Must perform duties in accordance with the homes Mission and Values and the Fixing Long Term Care Act

What will you need.

Must be currently enrolled in and provide proof of registration of one of the following programs; Recreation and Leisure, Kinesiology, Therapeutic Recreation, SSW, DSW, Behavioural Science, Gerontology or a diploma or degree in a related field Willing to successfully complete the Food Handlers training program offered by the health unit and maintain certification Good communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization Vulnerable sector check that is less than 6 months old at the time of hire TB test steps 1 and 2 proof and 1 step in last 6 months until two step obtained in last year. Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally, always Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently
