Valley Manor is a dynamic and progressive Long-Term Care Home. We are a rural, fully Accredited facility, offering quality nursing care in a friendly & welcoming environment. We are committed to the safety of our residents and to compliance with the LTCHA legislation.


Qualifications: Must be able to work in a Team environment. Ability to learn, demonstrate and utilize a variety of techniques and skills in dealing with the elderly. Mature attitude to those areas which are important to a resident. Be a friendly assistant with the ability to guide.


Education qualifications must be from an Accredited post-secondary institution.

Duties

Preference given to registration in a post-Secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure, therapeutic recreation kinesiology or other related field from a community college or university (LTC Act Sec 67 - July 1, 2010) Experience in Activities in Long Term Care is an asset Computer literacy (Word perfect & Microsoft Publisher- includes Rai-Mds, POC and PCC) Recording and documentation skills. Ability to learn, demonstrate and utilize a variety of communication techniques, media and skills in dealing with the elderly and disabled in recreational pursuits. Knowledge and courses in behaviors, Montessori, Gentle Persuasive Approach, etc. an asset. Excellent public relations skills, confidentiality and an ability to work well with others in a multi-disciplinary team approach in a changing work environment. Must successfully complete the orientation program for the Activities department at Valley Manor Enthusiastic and energetic organizational and leadership skills and ability to work effectively unsupervised. Friendly, outgoing, positive, mature attitude, self-starter, dependable ability to perform assigned duties within a flexible work schedule within a 24 hour a day, 7 days a week operation of service.
