The Acquisition Manager is responsible for identifying, evaluating, negotiating and managing the acquisition of dental practices as part of the organization's strategic growth initiatives. This role involves working closely with internal stakeholders and external sellers to ensure a smooth, compliant and value-driven acquisition process.
Key Responsibilities:
Sourcing & Pipeline Management:
Identify and research potential dental practice acquisition targets.
Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified opportunities through outbound outreach, referrals, brokers and industry events.
Due Diligence & Evaluation:
Conduct preliminary business evaluations, including financial analysis, operational review and cultural fit.
Coordinate comprehensive due diligence with legal, financial, HR, and clinical teams.
Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with dentists, practice owners, brokers, and other key stakeholders.
Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective sellers throughout the acquisition lifecycle.
Negotiation & Deal Structuring:
Lead negotiations of deal terms, purchase agreements, and transition plans.
Work with legal and finance teams to ensure favorable deal structures aligned with company goals.
Transition & Integration Support:
Partner with operations and integration teams to ensure a smooth transition post-acquisition.
Assist in onboarding and ensuring alignment with company standards and expectations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or related field (MBA or similar advanced degree preferred).
1-2 years of experience in mergers & acquisitions, business development, or healthcare consulting.
Strong financial modeling and valuation skills.
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
Ability to manage multiple deals and timelines simultaneously.
Willingness to travel for site visits and relationship development.
Preferred Skills:
Deep understanding of the dental industry, including practice operations, provider dynamics, and market trends.
Familiarity with healthcare compliance regulations.
Experience working within or with Dental Service Organizations (DSOs).
