We are currently seeking an Acoustic Engineer to work out of our office in Mississauga, ON.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the Instrumentation and Monitoring team by identifying new business opportunities and leveraging existing client or portfolio relationship advantages; participate in proposal writing and project budgeting.
  • Assessment of noise/vibration impacts to relevant guidelines, regulations and standards and development of mitigation solutions.
  • Participate in multiple projects from inception to completion; ensure specific project deliverables are on schedule within the project's scope and budget.
  • Conduct sound level measurement and vibration measurement on-site, conduct site visits, undertake research, data collection/field surveys, data summary, documenting observations, and prepare Acoustic Assessment Reports and Acoustic Audits.
  • Undertake architectural acoustic and vibration design, including evaluating, specifying, and designing noise and vibration controls.
  • Be recognized as an established consultant who has developed specialized knowledge in acoustics and vibration, making recommendations on work methods and procedures and technical innovations.
  • Manage and coordinate relationships with clients, stakeholders, and third parties.
  • Mentoring junior and intermediate staff and provide quality control of the works prepared by others. Develop, hire and train new and existing staff for the Instrumentation & Monitoring team.
  • Maintaining professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of the latest trends, software, and technology specific to the industry.

Qualifications:
  • Degree in Engineering, Physical Science, or Environmental science. Master’s degree preferred with a minimum of (5) years of Noise and Vibration experience, or related areas or equivalent experience.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with PEO.
  • Experience using CadnaA, CATT, Odeon or EASE, SAP 2OOO, Visual Basic, or Matlab is an asset.
  • Acoustics and vibration experience as a consultant is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with relevant federal and provincial legislation and regulations.
  • Strategic and process-oriented, prefers to operate in a fast and dynamic environment.
  • Team player, able to prioritize with good organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented and good problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prepare coherent proposals in plain language addressing client requirements.
  • Ministry of Transportation noise assessment requirements
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel (some short-term travel expected)
  • Written and verbal communication skills are essential to this position—a strong emphasis is placed on your ability to communicate well with others and engage in technical conversations.
