Position Overview:

We're looking for a highly organized, experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team at our central chapel location. This role is key to keeping our finances running smoothly. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment, and enjoys managing accounts while improving processes wherever possible.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the full accounts receivable cycle, including invoicing, payment processing, account reconciliations, and collections for multiple companies. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and the company's CRM system. Monitor outstanding accounts and follow up with clients, funeral directors to ensure timely payments. Investigate and resolve discrepancies, billing issues, or payment disputes professionally. Prepare and analyze accounts receivable reports, aging schedules, and cash flow projections. Collaborate with internal teams, including funeral directors and accounting staff, to ensure smooth billing and payment processes. Assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting as required. Implement and maintain best practices for AR processes to optimize efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in accounts receivable, preferably in funeral services, healthcare, or high-volume service industries. Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online (QBO)--experience is required. Experience using CRM systems to manage client accounts and communications. Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills; capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines. Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally. Self-motivated, proactive, and solutions-oriented mindset. Must be able to work in person at our central chapel, 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa.
