Job Description

Robert Half is partnered with a leading food manufacturing organization who is looking to hire an Accounts Receivable Specialist to their growing team. This is a full time permanent position located in the Mississauga area. Reporting to the Controller, the Accounts Receivable Specialist will be responsible for;
- Monitor and manage the accounts receivable ledger, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and receipts
- Review aging reports regularly and prioritize accounts for collection efforts based on payment terms and risk
- Proactively contact customers via phone, email, and written correspondence to follow up on past-due invoices and resolve payment delays
- Maintain positive customer relationships to facilitate prompt resolution of payment issues while upholding professional communication standards
- Post payments in the ERP system and prepare bank deposits
- Investigate and resolve disputes related to deductions
- Work closely with internal teams (e.g. sales and finance departments) to address and resolve customer concerns effectively
- Perform trade spend analysis
- Prepare weekly and monthly accounts receivable reports and provide updates to management on the status of outstanding payments
- Maintain thorough and accurate records of all collection activities, communications, and payment arrangements for audit or review purposes
- Post journal entries and support the Controller with Month End close procedure
- Identify opportunities to streamline and improve the accounts receivable and collection processes
Qualifications:
- Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred. Relevant experience in lieu of a degree/diploma will be considered
- Minimum of 4 years of accounts receivable and collections experience within the manufacturing industry with preference given to those with food manufacturing industry experience
- Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail
- Effective communication and negotiation skills to foster productive customer interactions
- Organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
