Job Title: Accounts Receivable ("AR") Specialist


Reports to: Accounting Manager, MBI Brands ("MBIB")


The AR Specialist supports the Finance team by invoicing customers, completing account reconciliations and resolving billing discrepancies, and communicating with customers to ensure the timely collection of accounts receivable. This role supports both brands for MBIB - Mary Brown's Chicken ("MB") and Fat Bastard Burrito ("FB").

Essential functions




Duties:

Generate all weekly and monthly invoicing for franchisees, including chargebacks and other service fees Set up and maintain customer/franchisee accounts in the finance system; process changes, credits or adjustments as needed Post and apply cash receipts, reconcile customer accounts, and ensure accurate cash application Monitor outstanding receivables, including construction and project balances, produce AR aging reports, and follow up with franchisees and vendors Assist month end close by preparing journal entries, accruals, performing AR ledger reconciliations and supplier allowance Maintain accurate documentation of correspondence, adjustments, and account status Work cross functionally with franchisee owners, operations and procurement to ensure consistent, reliable billing, supplier allowances and collections processes Identify opportunities for process improvements in billing, collections and AR reconciliation workflows Processing month end reports and assisting Accounting Manager with period close activities Data Entry, filing, and other duties as required

Required Skills and Qualifications



A minimum of 2+ years' experience in a junior-intermediate accounting role Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices Excellent attention to detail and very effective organizational skills with ability to manage deadlines efficiently Strong analytical skills in reviewing accounts and accounting problems Able to work independently and in a collaborative team environment Possesses excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills Proficient in accounting/ERP software (i.e. Sage 300, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle) and Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills. Demonstrates professionalism in handling all matters Ability to think strategically, problem solve and work well in a team

Education / Certification



Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred)
