The Accounts Receivable role in the pharmacy involves overseeing financial transactions, managing payments, and maintaining precise records. This position contributes to the efficient operation of the pharmacy and supports the delivery of quality healthcare services. Join our team to make a meaningful impact in this critical function.

Responsibilities:

Provide exemplary customer service while meeting the standards of McKesson Canada; customer interaction is done via phone/email

Investigate outstanding balances through pharmacy software ensuring all required documentation is adequate and appropriate including (but not limited to) accounts receivable, third-party billing restrictions, copayment management, coordination of benefits, assignment of benefits

Patient follow-up calls for outstanding accounts (ensuring that all medical questions are referred to a pharmacist)

Track and monitor customer payments to ensure timely and complete collections, identify and address any discrepancies or delays in payments

Adherence to all relevant guidelines including the established Standard Operation procedures and all applicable regulatory requirements

Effectively communicate with both external and internal contacts

Investigate and resolve any discrepancies between invoiced and received amounts

Prepare regular reports on accounts receivable status, aging, and other relevant metrics

Provide insights and recommendations based on the analysis of receivables data

Develop and maintain professional relationships with health care professionals, reimbursement coordinators, infusion coordinators, provincial ministries of health and private payers

Accurate data entry into various systems

Organize and file relevant documentation for audit purposes

Minimum Requirements:

Typically requires 3+ years of related experience

Additional Skills:

Experience in a retail pharmacy setting preferred

Experience in specialty pharmacy preferred but not required

Understanding of 3rd party billing

Quick learner, adjusting quickly to a fast-paced environment

Clear communication (both written and verbal)

Good problem-solving skills

Team player

Experience working with MS Office Suit

This position requires a significant degree of taking direction quickly, self-starting and independence

Communication: PSP, Programs, Pharmacy, Patients, Finance and Third party Insurance providers

As part of Total Rewards, we are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson. This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$40,000 - $66,600
