GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES :

Accounts Receivable Specialist helps MK Auto Group keep its finances and reputation in good standing by ensuring payments for goods and services are received in time and maintaining cash flow for business operations. The role secures revenue by verifying and posting receipts; resolving discrepancies.

The incumbent also processes payments, helps customers, and creates reports. Accounts Receivable Specialists often communicate with customers and clients, as well as other employees who help with handling the business's finances. These include Accountants, Accounts Payable Specialists, and Managers, among others.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Posts customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions Posts revenues by verifying and entering transactions Updates receivables by totaling unpaid invoices Using data entry to change paper records to a digital format Organizing and updating digital or paper records Calculating billing amounts, and printing and mailing bills when needed Maintains records by scanning/reviewing invoices, debits, and credits Verifies validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from sales, insurance, customer service reps, and from customers Resolves valid or authorized deductions by entering adjusting entries Resolves invalid or unauthorized deductions by following pending deductions procedures Resolves collections by examining customer payments, insurance approval, payment history, and credit line; coordinating contact with the collections department Summarizes receivables by maintaining invoice accounts; coordinating monthly transfers to accounts receivable accounts; verifying totals; preparing reports

QUALIFICATIONS:

Post-secondary certificate/diploma in Accounting A high degree of accuracy Great attention to detail Strong customer service skills Ability to calculate and manage accounting figures Comfort working with budgets, payroll, revenue, and forecasting Knowledge in data entry / Computer proficiency Knowledge in bookkeeping and other financial software (Summit and QuickBooks) Extensive knowledge and understanding of how banking and finance systems work Experience in the automotive industry is an advantage
