Are you detail-oriented and driven by integrity? Our growing feedlot is looking for an Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team. Enjoy working in a collaborative environment from our newly renovated office in Picture Butte, only 20 minutes north of Lethbridge, , with hours of work Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.. Stronks Feedlot Ltd. is a family-owned and operated livestock and farming operation dedicated to quality cattle care, responsible farming practices, and a positive team environment.

The Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for managing receivables across multiple entities under the direction of the Controller. This includes processing payments, generating invoices, coordinating freight and trucking transactions, and maintaining accurate financial records for Stronks Feedlot Ltd. and the three affiliated companies. The role also supports month-end reporting and assists with office technology issues, requiring both financial accuracy and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities for this position include but not limited to:



1. Invoicing & Billing



Generate and issue invoices to customers based on services provided (e.g., cattle sales, feed charges, trucking, custom work). Ensure all invoices are accurate, properly coded, and reflect agreed-upon terms. Coordinate with operations or sales teams to verify billable items and services. Process weekly internal and AMG Freight Transactions. Generate and send monthly invoices for

2. Payment Collection & Processing



Record and apply customer payments (cheques and EFTs) accurately and in a timely manner, including ACC members to Athena and Fusion for Cattle slaughtered. Deposit cheque for all related companies in a timely and accurate manner. Prepare and issue biweekly payments to truckers based on provided schedules and documentation. Monitor accounts for overdue balances and follow up on outstanding payments. Communicate with customers to resolve billing discrepancies or payment issues. Complete all rebilling for ACC Prepare and submit the Alberta Beef Refund Application twice per year. Act as the primary contact for basic office technology issues, including troubleshooting equipment and liaising with IT support if necessary

3. Account Monitoring & Reporting



Maintain accurate AR aging reports and customer account records. Prepare regular reports on outstanding receivables, collections status, and trends. Support cash flow forecasting by projecting incoming payments. Prepare unpaid cattle documents and internal freight records to support month-end closing. 4. Customer Relations



Build and maintain positive relationships with customers through professional and courteous communication. Respond to inquiries regarding invoices, statements, and payment arrangements.

5. Internal Collaboration & Recordkeeping



Work closely with sales, feedlot, or operations teams to verify billing accuracy. Maintain organized digital and/or physical filing systems for all AR-related documents. Assist with physical and system-based month-end and reconciliation and year-end closing processes.

6. Compliance & Best Practices



Follow internal financial policies and procedures. Ensure confidentiality and integrity of customer financial information. Support continuous improvement of AR processes and systems.

Skills & Qualifications



High school diploma required; post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred. Minimum 2 years of experience in accounts receivable or general accounting. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Athena, and Microsoft Excel). Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
