We are on the hunt for our next PAL and our team is seeking an experienced and detailed oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our growing team in St. John\'s, NL.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Invoice & Payment Processing

• Ensure timely processing and payment of invoices, including coordination of approvals and matching Purchase Orders
• Completion of weekly payment runs and uploading approved payments into banking portal, while ensuring alignment with payment terms and critical vendor lists
• Vendor Management

• Manage vendor relationships from an AP perspective through timely and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders
• Controls & Processes

• Ensure financial controls are designed and operating effectively, while proactively looking for areas for enhancement
• Safeguard the assets of the company by vigilantly managing the vendor master file and vendor banking information
• Complete month end procedures, reports, and reconciliations
• Continuous Improvement

• Proactively identify and act on opportunities for continuous improvement with a focus on maintaining and enhancing controls and building on efficiencies
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business or a related subject
• Minimum of 5 years experience working in Accounts Payable or as an AP lead is preferred
• Results oriented approach to projects
• Demonstrated ability to manage vendor inquiries in an effective manner
• Strong communication skills
• Flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities and deadlines in a fast paced environment
• Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable risks and mitigating controls
