Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Accounts Payable& Payroll Clerk to join our team. The position is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, employee payroll, and related financial records. This role supports day-to-day accounting operations while ensuring compliance with internal controls, company policies, and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
Process high volume vendor invoices, expense reports, and credit card statements with accuracy and timeliness
Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents
Investigate and resolve pricing, quantity, and receipt discrepancies in coordination with Purchasing and Operations
Respond to vendor inquiries in a professional and timely manner
Prepare and process weekly or bi-weekly payment runs (EFTs, wire transfers)
Maintain vendor master files and ensure proper documentation
Reconcile accounts payable sub-ledger to the general ledger
Assist with month-end close and audit requests related to AP
Payroll
Process bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees
Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and benefits
Maintain employee payroll records and update changes (new hires, terminations, pay adjustments)
Prepare and remit payroll taxes, statutory deductions, and benefits contributions
Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a confidential and professional manner
Assist with year-end payroll reporting (T4s, ROEs, etc., if applicable)
General Accounting & Administration
Maintain organized and accurate financial records
Support internal controls and compliance with company policies
Assist with ad hoc accounting projects as needed
Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure data accuracy
Ability to reconcile accounts and analyze financial data.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
Fluent in spoken and written Mandarin and English mandatory
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in accounts payable and payroll in a Canadian environment
Working knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation and statutory remittances
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/payroll systems
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
Preferred
Experience with Sage ERP or other ERP systems and payroll systems

High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $24.00-$26.00 per hour
