:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team. Reporting directly to the Accounting Supervisor, the Accounts Payable Clerk will manage a portfolio of retirement residence facilities, ensuring accurate and timely processing of accounts payable tasks. This is a great opportunity for an individual with strong attention to detail and a flexible approach to work.
Key Responsibilities
:
Maintain vendor master accounts, including setting up new vendor accounts and processing address changes.
Enter accounts payable invoices, verifying first-level approvals, and ensuring compliance with naming conventions in line with company policy.
Oversee the electronic approval process for second-level approvals.
Process weekly cheque runs, match cheques to documents, and ensure timely mailing of cheques to suppliers (approximately 800 cheques per month).
Perform reconciliations of vendor statements and assist accountants with vendor inquiries and issues.
File accounts payable invoices, general ledger entries, and bank statements.
Perform bank deposit duties as needed.
Provide other accounting-related support and responsibilities as required.
Skills & Qualifications
:
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and processing.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Adobe, and familiarity with accounting programs.
A flexible and adaptable approach to work, with a positive attitude towards challenges.
Education & Experience
:
A college diploma is preferred, but not mandatory.
Previous experience in accounts payable or a similar role is an asset.
