The County of Lambton is an urban-rural area in southwestern Ontario that is home to over 126,000 residents. Position Summary
Perform accounting, purchasing, and budget monitoring in a timely and accurate manner including all accounts payable functions, maintenance of purchase orders and preparation of invoices for payment. Perform clerical duties including filing, sorting and distribution of mail as required.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare A/P Invoices (for the 3 County of Lambton Homes & 3 Day Programs):
Code invoices with correct General Ledger codes ensuring calculations are accurate (GST, PST, rebates) and vendor information is correct
Enter all invoices checking accuracy of date and coding
Process monthly payments ensuring invoices are paid on time
Ensure that proper process is followed by all departments at each home and program
Purchasing Duties:
Determine supplies required and obtain quotes from suppliers
Choose suppliers that provide the best service and price
Deal with supplier errors
Confirm receipt of ordered products
Clerical Duties (As Required):
Answer phone, type, proof-read and distribute invoices, sort and distribute mail, and photocopy
Maintenance and operation responsibility for photocopier, fax machine and phone system
Lockup Senior Services every night
General:
Incumbents must keep up-to-date on all relevant legislation, collective bargaining agreements, County Policies and Procedures, etc. ensuring that these are implemented as prescribed
Incumbents must possess the physical ability to meet the duties and responsibilities of the job description and/or the requirements identified within the position's Physical Demands Analysis

Credentials Required
Minimum Formal Education
Completion of a 3-year community college diploma in Accounting/Purchasing
Experience
2 years in business and accounting setting
Computer experience including Microsoft Office, E-mail, Database programmes
1-2 years in a demanding office setting would be beneficial
