Job Description

Robert Half is looking for an analytical and organized Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk that is ready to become an essential part in a team-oriented and rapidly-expanding company. This position is short-term contract / temporary. The Accounts Payable Clerk will update and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L, process checks, process expense reports, resolve A/P issues, and match, batch, and code invoices. Excellent communication, written and verbal are a must, as well as building relationships with vendors and other departments. Located in Ottawa, Ontario, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be a short-term contract / temporary position.

Your responsibilities

- Open, sort, and deliver department mail on a daily basis

- Carry out daily processes and controls accurately and on time, and ensure compliance with company policies

- Verify, log and send checks, including facilitating special handling

- Handle the administrative needs of the AP/Finance Department

- Provide support during internal and external audits

- Implement full-cycle A/P

- Ensure invoices, checks, and other documents are properly sorted, logged, scanned, and filed

- Execute additional tasks as needed

- Assist internal business partners with any customer services needs
- Competent with spreadsheets and databases

- AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred

- 2+ years of experience in an A/P role preferred

- Demonstrated communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds

- Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

- Journal entries experience

- Expertise in Coding Invoices

- Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR)

- Chargebacks experience

- Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)
