Role:

We are seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk for a 6-month contract to cover maternity leave. This role is responsible for managing accounts payable processes, journal entries, month-end reconciliations, AR cheque deposits, and other accounting tasks to support the finance team.

Role Responsibilities:

Maintain open receipts by completing inventory vouchering and processing freight invoices. Process inventory vouchers and resolve match exceptions in coordination with Purchasing and warehouse operations. Monitor vendor discount policies and ensure timely payments to capture discounts. Communicate with vendors to verify and update payment methods and banking details. Review and manage pay cycles. Enter and upload monthly journal entries for bank activities and other accounting items. Reconcile accounts payable, inventory, prepayments, and expenses. Prepare accounts receivable cheque deposits: open mail, identify customer details, and itemize payments. Perform various accounting tasks as needed.

Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements:

College Diploma or Certificate in Accounting. 2 years of Accounting/Bookkeeping experience. Strong computer skills. PeopleSoft experience a definite asset. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Good time-management skills.
