Job Description

Robert Half is seeking an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk to join a team of highly skilled professionals in a stimulating work environment. This role will require the candidate to attend to the general administrative needs of the AP/Finance Department and work closely with the Accounting Manager. Matching and batching code, resolving A/P issues, processing expense reports, updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L and processing checks are primary areas of focus. Based out of the Kitchener, Ontario area, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be a long-term contract / temporary opening.

What you get to do every day

- Open, sort, and deliver department mail on a daily basis

- Sort, log, scan, and file invoices, checks, and other documents

- Carry out additional tasks as assigned

- Handle administrative tasks for the AP/Finance Department

- Carry out daily processes and controls accurately and on time, and ensure compliance with company policies

- Provide support to internal business partners

- Validate, record and send checks, including expediting special handling

- Carry out a full-cycle A/P

- Provide support during internal and external audits
- Established communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds

- Prior experience in an A/P role preferred

- Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

- Electronic Payments experience desired

- Command of Accounts Payable (AP)

- Adeptness in Check Runs

- Process Expense Reports experience preferred

- Expense reports experience

- Account reconciliation experience highly desired

- High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills

- AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred
