Job Description

An opening for an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk at a a company in the Healthcare/NHS field has opened up. This position is offered through Robert Half. As the Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk, your efforts will become an important part to the success of a company in the Healthcare/NHS industry. Located in Kanata, Ontario, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be a long-term contract / temporary opening. This department offers prospects of career growth and advancement. The Accounts Payable Clerk position will require to match and batch code invoices, resolve A/P issues, process expense reports, update and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L, and process checks.

Your responsibilities

- Accomplish full-cycle A/P

- Provide administrative assistance to the AP/Finance Department

- Carry out daily processes and controls accurately and on time, and ensure compliance with company policies

- Open, sort, and distribute daily department mail

- Provide customer service to internal business partners

- Assist with internal and external audits as needed

- Validate, record and send checks, including expediting special handling

- Complete special projects on an as-needed basis

- Sort, register, scan, and store invoices, checks, and other documents
- Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

- Great attention to detail

- 2+ years of experience in an A/P role preferred

- Knowledge of journal entries

- Microsoft Excel experience

- Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)

- AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred

- Demonstrated communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds
