About Zaag'idiwin Child and Family Services:
Zaag'idiwin Child and Family Services is a newly established organization dedicated to promoting the wellbeing of Saugeen First Nation children and families and build capacity to operationalize Saugeen's child wellbeing law, Zaag'idiwin. Saugeen children and families are at the core of who we are - they are our most valuable resources. We believe it is our collective responsibility as Saugeen to care for one another.
Position Summary
The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, payments, and financial documentation. This role supports the financial operations of Zaag'idiwin Child and Family Services by maintaining organized records and providing administrative support within the finance department.
Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts Payable Duties
Process and verify invoices, purchase orders, and payment requisitions.
Prepare and issue cheques, electronic payments, and EFTs in a timely manner.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
Maintain organized files of all payables and supporting documentation.
Ensure adherence to internal controls and procurement policies.
General Financial Support
Assist in month-end and year-end financial close procedures.
Maintain electronic and paper filing systems for financial documentation.
Liaise with program managers regarding budgets and expenditure tracking.
Assist with audit preparation and provide required documentation.
Support the CFO with financial reporting and analysis as required.
Other related duties as assigned to support the operational success of Zaag'idiwin Child and Family Services.
Qualifications
Post-secondary diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
Minimum of 2 years' experience in accounts payable functions.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or similar systems).
Strong knowledge of MS Excel and other Office applications.
Demonstrated attention to detail, organizational skills, and confidentiality.
Experience working with Indigenous organizations or non-profits is considered an asset.
Understanding of Indigenous values, cultures, and traditions is an asset.
Additional Requirements
Clear CPIC and Vulnerable Sector Check (or willingness to obtain).
Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle (if required).
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
