, your role will be to support and assist your manager in a range of functions by performing various administrative follow-ups and technical accounting tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the accounting department's daily activities.
More specifically, the main responsibilities of an accounting and administration technician are to :
Produce, verify and post required adjusting entries to the general ledger.
Account for, verify and analyze specific expenses incurred and validate the application of certain internal controls.
Prepare various general ledger account reconciliations, prepare monthly, quarterly, annual or ad hoc reports and explain variances.
Answer questions from the management team regarding reports produced.
Prepare forms and related materials for various Canadian and U.S. government agencies while respecting deadlines.
Manage the collection of documents and validate approvals, following up when necessary. Communicate results with operations teams.
Prepare and maintain accurate and complete follow-up files.
Manage the process of sending and receiving documents for certain control tests on the company's operational processes required under Bill 52-109 for public companies.
Create and support employees in managing their expense accounts via an application.
Perform all other related tasks as requested by immediate supervisor.
Requirements:
Accounting technician or combination of certificates or diplomas and relevant experience
Minimum of 3 years' experience in accounting
Experience working with an ERP tool, such as Oracle, SAP, JDE, etc. an asset
Bilingualism (French and English) both written and spoken
