The Island Construction Limited is seeking an Accounting Technician

We are an Asphalt Paving and Heavy Construction business based in Charlottetown. We are celebrating our 79th year as a family owned and operated company. We have a small, tight knit office and are looking for someone new to join us.

Duties would include:

-Perform data entry of accounts payable, accounts receivable and deposits

-Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy in financial records

-Providing support to Senior Accounting Staff as needed

Key Skills and Abilities

-Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling financial information

- Strong organizational and analytical skills

- Detail Oriented

- Excellent time-Management skills

-Excellent Oral and written English communication skills

-Proficient with Microsoft Office software

-Comfortable learning a new software programs

-Ability to work well with others

Experience:

-Post secondary education required

-3+ years in relevant accounting position

Full time, permanent salaried position starting range $60,000/year + depending on experience

Hours: 8:30am-4:30pm Monday-Friday
