We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accounting Specialist for a temporary one-year maternity leave contract. In this role, you will be responsible for reconciling tax and bank accounts, preparing tax filings, preparation and review of reports to government agencies, preparing ad hoc reports as requested by management and other departments.

This on-site role is based at our Calgary SE Headquarters, where you will be an integral part of our Accounting & Finance Team. You will support the Financial Controller and contribute to a dynamic, growing, and innovative organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES



Ensure timely and accurate Canadian GST and US sales tax tracking, reporting and submissions;

Prepare monthly cashflow forecasting, including monitoring daily impacts on cash position;

Reconcile tax and bank accounts and work with team members to resolve discrepancies;

Review and reconcile vendor accounts related to import and export taxes

Maintain organized an accurate tax and bank records;

Assist with month-end close tasks, including accruals, reconciliations, and variance reviews;

Communicate with internal departments to clarify invoice details, or coding questions, or resolve issues;

Support the Financial Controller with ad-hoc accounting tasks and projects; and

Assist team members with implementation of continual improvement accounting processes.

QUALIFICATIONS



You have a minimum of 3 years working experience in similar role;

You have experience with Great Plains and Acumatica or similar ERP;

You have experience with full cycle accounting and a strong understanding of financial statements;

You are detail orientated, highly accurate;

You are superior in time management and organization skills and can thrive in a fast-paced environment; and

You are a fast learner and a team player.
