Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, the Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for providing financial, administrative, and clerical services to ensure effective, efficient, and accurate financial and administrative operations. General Responsibilities: • Receive and verify invoices and requisitions for goods and services
• Verify that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures
• Manage the AP inbox
• Prepare batches of invoice for data entry
• Data enter invoices for payment
• Process backup reports after data entry
• Manage the weekly cheque run
• Record all cheques, prepare vendor cheques for mailing, and log all vendor cheques
• Maintain listing of accounts payable and the general ledger
• Process TD1 forms
• Assist with audits as needed

Requirements: • Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, maintaining general ledgers
• Computer skills including the ability to operate computerized accounting, spreadsheets, and word processing programs and highly proficient at email
• Ability to communicate in a professional manner when dealing with employees, vendors, customers and company contacts
• Bookkeeping skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, decision making skills, stress and time management skills, effective organizational skills and high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Previous automotive accounting experience an asset but not required
