Accounting Manager (temp to hire)

The Accounting Manager is responsible for providing accounting, budgeting, accounts payables and receivables on a timely and monthly basis to support the business. Accounting Manager will primarily be hands on with processing/managing all financial transactions, account reconciliations, general ledger and financial statements.

The Accounting Manager will be the main point of contact for all general and management accounting, and will have 1-2 staff reporting into it

Process, oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes

  • Close financials on a monthly basis in a timely manner
  • Manage a hard quarter end close and from time to time a hard month end close on an ad hoc basis, including all accruals and provisions
  • Ensure that all compliance and statutory requirements of the organization are met including Employee Tax Deductions, WSIB, Employer Health Tax, Harmonized Sales Tax, and banking request
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Provide a monthly reporting package including variances to actuals and budget
  • Work with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at year-end
  • Validate and process commissions
  • Responsible for inventory costing, inventory receipt by warehouse, creation of SKUs, inventory warehouse transfers
  • Responsible for foreign exchange accounting
Qualifications and Skills

- Bachelor\'s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Accounting Designation or working towards a designation: CPA, CGA
- A minimum of six (6+) years\' manufacturing or similar experience
- Strong team management skills, contribute at a senior leadership level
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook.
- Proficient skills in Acumatica ERP or similar Accounting Package
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.
